From the environmental point of view, the cost benefit of using seawater is much higher. All the rest of the large, medium and small mining companies use water from the groundwater, with catchment wells drilling through 200 meters depth. |

Algorta Norte works with seawater because water is becoming scarce and will be more critical in the coming years. While the cost of investment is higher than that required in traditional extraction, it becomes a sustainable long-term project, because it will not decrease the life of desert ecosystems. |
